The Divide

There are but two theories regarding the ‘game’ of life and at the end of the day people come down squarely on one side of the fence or the other.

Some believe life is competitive. It’s up to each individual to grab as much as they can, whatever way they can before someone beats them to it.

Others believe life is cooperative. It is by working together that we attain our greatest achievements.

Now, who do you think is in the minority?

Our entire social structure (including the courts) is set up to maintain a competitive society, one that condones clubbing your fellow humans to the legal mat on the flimsiest of claims…it’s mine!

Rich people live better than poor ones do and given the choice, very few would turn down the chance to be counted as one of the wealthy.

Thus do we ignore the fact that the rich have enslaved us in hopes of becoming rich ourselves someday.

Right! There really is a pony under all that manure if you just keep shoveling.

This work is an attempt to wake folks up to the fact that they are being played. You will never get rich working for someone else nor is there enough market share out there to earn more than a modest living working for yourself.

So the question, given the fact you are much more likely to be killed by terrorists than making a killing on Wall Street, is if you would give up your relentless pursuit of wealth in exchange for your freedom and a secure future for your children?

Central to the concept of labor driven society is the idea that no human should be allowed to make a living off the sweat of someone else’s brow.

‘Rich’ would be relative in labor driven society. There will still be money and the money motivated would still be able to accumulate as much as they were able…by working for it.

Is that the fly in the ointment? It wouldn’t be Easy Street if you still had to work? Why not let a few take advantage of the rest of us?

Because it’s wrong!

None of us are here to be someone else’s cash cow.

So you wouldn’t be able to get rich in the traditional sense of the word but neither would anyone else and that’s only fair.

Tell me true, would you rather bust your hump day in and day out to make someone else rich or would you rather work a few hours a day knowing that your efforts were going directly to making your world a better place to live?

The real advantage, unlike working for the ‘prevailing wage, you would actually be able to live quite comfortably on what you made from your 20 hour a week job.

No taxes, no rent, no healthcare expenses, no utility payments, the only thing you’d need your pay for is food and fun.

Plentiful food items would be cheap. Items that would threaten certain species with extinction would be expensive.

Cattle would be extinct in a month if everybody decided they had to have filet mignon every night!

Who would do housekeeping if you could live in a hotel for free? Who would cook if they could eat in a restaurant for free…how many restaurants would still be open a week after that kind of insanity? How long would you wait for a table? So how much of your earnings are you willing to part with to get one of these luxuries?

If society decided (and they probably would) alcohol and tobacco would likely still cost more than they’re worth.

But issues like this would be put to the public for a vote rather than having them shoved down your throat by royal decree like they do now.

So, which one do you want more, a life that’s fair or the long shot that you might become rich someday?

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Gegner
